biography
Places I have travelled to, everyday objects, situations and imagination all inspire my paintings.
I record daily ideas and thoughts in sketch and note form. I work quickly on multiple pieces. Anything can trigger an initial starting point from an object, a sketch or a memory.
As a working process I am driven by simplicity and spontaneity in use of colour and composition. Collage and bright colour also excite me and works well with acrylic, my preferred medium.
Since graduating from Central St Martins in 1998 and the Slade School of Fine Art in 2001, I have exhibited regularly in private and public galleries. I produce paintings for both domestic and corporate environments with part of my practice involving commission based pieces.
Now painting professionally, I work from my studio near Cambridge.
